UPSC-Civil Services Exam- Some query

To whom so ever it may concern it’s about the UPSC selection policies of conducting examination for the selection of IAS, IPS candidates, therefore few questions mentioned which are as follows:

Dear Friend, though you did not give your real/correct e-mail address, we try to answer your queries

1. Faculties/ the members of the UPSC board proved their superiority by implemented the new question pattern which no one can guess neither the IAS coaching centers as well but for this the students like us suffered because they want complete intellectual candidate but for that they didn't provide any kind of guidance to the students neither to for the IAS academy's to guide and prepare the students accordingly. But no they don't feel to do so why also most of the time UPSC office employees didn't pick up the phone if they really feel irritating to answer the students query why don't they remove the phone from their offices because we students are not dogs who bark tell me why??

This is the same feeling most of the aspirants have with UPSC. This has been reported to UPSC also. Still there is no respite. You can very well write to them.

2.What's the use of doing this implementation after all the ministers will rule the IAS officers as slave because our constitution made by B R Ambedkar after assembled so many rules from the developed countries to prepare our more than 300 articles to make the law but it's just good for nothing?

Dear friend, this may be your opinion, and you have the right to express your opinion also like this. That’s what our Constitution is.

3. Why the reservation compulsory in all the govt exams & jobs don't you think it should be judge by the candidates performance providing equal rights and opportunities to every caste, we are in 21st century but still people looking for an reservation as an excuse why General categories have less numbers of attempt to appear for an UPSC where in SC/ST has no limits why this discrimination if they really want to keep reservations then keep it for the women’s belong from all castes because they need to come ahead and proof their talents?

It’s a Government policy, we cannot comment on it. We also do the service to people like you that’s all.

4. Why there is so long procedure to select civil servants why not this procedure applicable for the selection of the MP/MLA as well who seats in the Lok Sabah because they win the election after made fake commitment spoil the public money for do the election and having Zero knowledge about any particular field except few but know how to consume public money, In other countries like US, Europe, Russia, China etc has simple procedure to select the best candidates for their own constitutions, but why it’s not implemented in our country to select the best candidates in short and simple procedure which will not take a year to declare the results please tell??

For this, we have to change our Constitution. It needs majority in the Parliament i.e. both the Houses of Parliament.

5. Supreme Court has issued the permission to provide the students with the complete feedback about their performances in competitive exams but it’s not following by the UPSC officials department completely as my child has submit the application to revaluate her paper after 50 days we got the reply saying that “there is no technically fault from their side” where in while submitting the form in the counter of UPSC office by hands the counter person said that within a week it’ll be declared also I have called the officers they said we don’t know about this because there is separate team who revaluate this papers so I can’t say on this also “I asked him how we could be sure that they are checking properly and not making fake commitments then he said you don’t have any option except this”. So this is the UPSC systems working style, please tell why n to whom we seek for the proper judgment and right solution to help our child to prepare for the IAS exams?

We agree with you. Now, it is high time, UPSC has to make the selection process very clear and transparent way.

 6. Why the UPSC not conducting only one exams for GS subjects because rest subject already we students studied in the school, college because a civil service officer have to wise to tackle the situation and the responsibility towards the society for that he/she don’t need to study all the subjects if they needed then that is only the case studies subject how to solve and make wise decision which is introduced in CSAT but in very less quantity, so I urge everyone please give a thought about my issues And please give your opinion so that in future we all the IAS aspirants can make our better future by serving our society.

The process is on, UPSC themselves have announced that there will be change in the system in 2013.

7. After the news released by the Hindu about the Optional subject to be removed from the mains but UPSC didn’t make a sound on this issue and all the private institute are trying to oppose this because there business will go down, if this will be the tendency then where and to whom we’ll ask for the justice even the politicians are also involved to make it delay to implement it completely, please tell me why?? Please ask UPSC to implement policies so that our children can achieve their dreams by giving their full efforts. So that after become an officer serve our country to make it better future.

UPSC will take its decision soon. You can see the changes soon.

  2. Yes. You can very well apply for the Civil Services Exam. You may go with Mechanical Engineering also. But it is not doing well for the past few years, you may think of some other subject, which will be useful for the General Studies Paper also. They may be Public Administration/ Geography/ Political Science etc

  3. Sir, If you could please tell me what is the scope of maths as an optional in CSE b/c aspirants usually opt for History, Geo, Sociology etc

  4. Its ok. The problem in opting for maths is that the scoring. After the syllabus change in 2001, it has become really tough. Even IITians are finding it difficult to score in Maths. Other subjects like History, Geography, Sociology etc will be useful in one or other form in the General Studies Preparation also. It is not the case with Maths. Maths will not be useful in any form including Essay writing. So, one should approach the exam with Holistically. I hope, now you can understand the issue well.
