1.      Brief Bio data

I am from handloom weaver family background in kancheepuram district, studied in Tamil medium up to my higher secondary in Govt school in anakaputhur,Kanchipuram Dt. completed B.Tech(IT) in Thangavelu Engg College, Chennai. I worked in Infosys, Cognizant and IBM. I had totally around 8 years of exp in IT industry. I written my mains and gave the Interview also in Tamil Medium.

2.      Your interest in Civil Services Examination

My childhood dreams to become an IAS and do the changes in the society. After my degree, I am in the position to take care of my family commitments. After complete my commitments, I started to study for the preparation.

4.       Preparation Strategy

1)    Study mains syllabus oriented instead of prelims oriented.
2)    Put a time table for every week and try to meet your timetable
3)    Take hind’s type notes for your main syllabus.
4)    Allocate 2 days in a week for your revision
5)    Form a group of 3 friends and discuss the topics in the syllabus and take notes out of it.
6)    Refer various books and Internet for all the topic and take hind’s type notes.(1 or 2 pages for all the topic in the syllabus)
7)    In the weekly timetable study at least 2 paper per days.(For every 3 hours change the topic or paper)
8)    After complete your handwritten notes study only notes.

6.      Examination Experience

Go with the exam very confident. Keep the strategy of
Ex: 10 marks – how many pages (1 to 1 -1/2 page) and how many minutes
Write answer to the questions, don’t deviate anywhere.
In the beginning Write which section is best known.

7.      Interview (strategy, questions, and atmosphere) – UPSC Board

Form a group of 3 to 4 students and do group Discussion – Come to a better solution for every national/regional
Understand all the national (Terrorism, etc) and regional issue (Mullai periyar, kaveri etc) and bring about the solutions to the issue (Your solution should be acceptable to everyone)
Interview is not a knowledge based purely your personality based(my opinion)
Board expectation – Honest, Positive attitude, Leadership Qualities. Etc.

8.      Total Marks scored : 1027

Main Marks: 827(Tamil : 290; Geography : 215, Essay : 96, GS – 226)
Interview(Purusothaman Agarwal sir) – 195

9.      Any other tips you wish to share

Form a group of 3 to 4 students and do group study
Put time table for every week – study according.
Study Newspaper regularly and take notes out of it.
