German Chancellor Angela Merkel secures a third term in office
The German Chancellor Angela Merkel has secured a third term in
office, with her party the Christian Democrats winning 41 and a half percent of
the vote in federal elections. It’s party's strongest showings since German
reunification in 1990. Chancellor Angela Merkel's victory has been seen as an
endorsement to her leadership during the euro zone crisis.
